If you live in Midway City and a damaged tooth needs to come out, you may be picturing a string of referrals: one place for the extraction, another for the implant, a third for the crown. Coordinating that means repeating your history, carrying records between offices, and wondering who is responsible if something is off. At our Pacifica office the whole sequence sits under one plan, so each step connects to the next.
The order generally runs like this, though your own plan may combine or skip steps:
- Consultation and imaging. An exam, X-rays, and a CT scan where needed, to see the tooth, its root, and the bone around it.
- Extraction. The failing tooth is removed. Sometimes the implant can be placed at that same visit; sometimes the site needs to heal first.
- Rebuilding bone, if required. When the socket lacks enough bone to hold a post, bone grafting restores it before placement.
- Implant placement. The post, usually titanium, goes into the jaw and is left to fuse with the bone.
- Abutment and crown. Once the implant is stable, a connector and a custom-made crown complete the visible tooth.
Healing time between steps differs from person to person, which is why your plan states your own sequence rather than a generic calendar. The implant process guide explains each stage in more depth, and the single-tooth implant page describes the finished result. Planning the steps together also means the position of the post can be chosen with the final crown already in mind, rather than leaving the restoration to adapt to wherever the implant ended up. Midway City patients are scheduled into Suite #110C at 18800 Main Street — the Pacifica office.
